El Mistela

In this tablao there is an artistic direction that gives coherence to all the shows to recover the authentic roots of primitive flamenco.
How would you like to enjoy authentic flamenco at the hands of MISTELA, National Flamenco Critics Award?
Farruco named this artist Místela, because according to him: “You are like Mistela Andalusian wine, sometimes sweet, sometimes bitter, always with feeling”.
His way of understanding this art gives coherence to all the shows of the tablao TORERO and recovers the authentic roots of primitive flamenco, the one that gives goosebumps, that is heard, seen and felt because it reaches the pure and jonda root of this ancient and noble art. He has performed in Tokyo, Paris, Rome and Seville.
He has been Principal bailaor in Carmen, with Salvador Távora and in El Amor Brujo with Mario Maya. He is currently the Artistic Director of Essential Flamenco, a tablao in which he has formed a small family of flamenco stars.

Atenea ToroFlamenco Dancer

Despite his youth, he already stands out for his power, tenacity and feeling. Connoisseurs see her as a future great baile figure for all the virtues she already demonstrates. He began taking classes at the age of 4, discovering his vocation at this early age. He has danced in all the big tablaos in the capital and is part of the Rafael Amargo company.

Andina MeloDupak

Flamenco Dancer Great Promise of flamenco dancing. He draws attention for his composure and versatility, dominating the fan, the shawl and the castanets. So much so that she often receives the compliment of dancing “like an old woman” and although in another art it could be considered as a criticism, in this case she highlights her maturity and plant on stage. Despite being born on the other side of the Atlantic, she excelled in this art since she was little, her mother being her first teacher.

Judit VargasFlamenco Dancer

Passion from southern Spain, born in Cordoba, she exudes grit and feeling. His presence never goes unnoticed when he takes the stage, leaving everything at every stick. She was awarded at the Mario Maya Awards in the XVIII Young Flamenco Contest in 2020. She graduated from the professional dance conservatory.

Kike JiménezPercussionist

Subtle, very flamenco, which is not noticeable when it’s there, but is noticeable when it’s missing. He debuted at the age of 16 on the tablaos scene, having toured them all. He has performed seasons abroad accompanying the greats, such as Antonio Carmona, Mara Rey and Montse Cortés.

José "El Bocadillo"Dancer

Power is the word that best defines the presence of this exceptional bailaor on stage. Of pure gypsy roots, he learned to develop in this art surrounded by the family. Talented rhythmic from the cradle, he combines his facet as a dancer with that of cante and percussion. He has shared the stage with Web artists: 4 flamenco artists of the stature of Nino de los Reyes and with the great contemporary art dancer Martha Graham.

Julio AlcocerPercussionist

Of Latin blood and born in Venezuela, rhythm runs through his veins. Although he began his musical career with Afro-Caribbean percussion, he soon included flamenco in his repertoire, where he has made a name for himself on the national scene. He was invited to play with the great maestro Jorge Pardo at the Jazz in Situ Festival (Quito, 2011). In Spain, he has accompanied artists of the stature of “La Truco”.

Nicanor LosadaPercussionist

Young man with a fantastic sense of rhythm, who accompanies well the dance, the singing and the guitar. Raised in the flamenco family of Losada de los Chorbos, he carries this art in his genes. He is beginning his career in the tablaos of Madrid, where little by little he is establishing himself as a regular among flamenco groups.

Rafael JiménezPercussionist

Essential for dancing, singing and playing. From Madrid, he belongs to a family of master percussionists and flamenco guitarists. He performs regularly abroad, from the Teatro Metropólitan (Mexico) to the Opera del Cairo. In his career he has accompanied artists such as Guadiana, Juan Andrés Maya and Miguel Poveda.

Rubén MotosSinger

With a wide range of tones, his technique reminds us of old flamenco. He accompanies dance very well and has worked in all the tablaos in Madrid. He is also dedicated to teaching, giving masterclasses in schools such as Amor de Dios.

Eleazar CerreduelaSinger

Of flamenco birth, a sentio and jondo singer, he was born into a family where all his ancestors were professional guitarists like El Nani (his grandfather), who played with Paco de Lucía. This young cantaor refines and brings out his strings, but vocals. From the extremely flamenco neighborhood of Pan Bendito, in her short but intense career, her voice has been present in the dance of Antonio Canales, Manuela Carrasco and Belén López.

Carlos OrgazGuitarist

He has a great technical domain, clean and deep
in the touch. He made his debut at the Teatro Apolo when he was only 16 years old. At 22 he began his work as
composer, being nominated for his adaptation
from Carmen to the MAX Awards. Has participated in
the tours of Rocío Jurado, Raphael and José Mercé
among others. Their collaborations stand out as
session musician on the records of Isabel Pantoja and Curro Cueto.

Fernando ClementeViolinist

Technical and clean sound. Raised in the Triana neighborhood (Seville), he began his training at the
Superior Conservatory of Music of Seville. His
professional dedication has been shared with the performing arts, mainly as a councilor at the Teatro Real in Madrid. Since 2009 it goes to
be part of the show Paganini de Ara
Malikian, with whom he has performed all over the world ever since.
